Whether in the summer in the forest and at the many lakes amidst breathtaking nature or in the winter in the deep snow: Here you can take hours-long walks and have a really great time with your furry friends.
Our insider tip for warmer days is a refreshing detour to the Upper Harz water management system. A unique system of ponds, ditches, tunnels and mining facilities in the Lower Saxony part of the Harz and one of the world's largest pre-industrial energy supply systems. Since 2010 it has even been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Good to know: Well-behaved four-legged friends are welcome at elsPARC Walkenried and elsPARC Zorge after prior registration. Both facilities have a limited number of dog-friendly cabins for your holiday with your dog in the Harz. The elsPARC grounds are fenced throughout. Important: To ensure that all guests feel comfortable, dogs must be on a leash on the elsPARC grounds. A leash requirement also applies all year round in the Harz National Park. From April 1 to July 15, dogs must also be on a leash outside the national park in the forest and in the fields so as not to disturb the wild animals raising their young. Otherwise, dogs are allowed to run free on the hiking trails. And there are plenty of them starting right from our holiday home complexes.
