Our premium resort elsPARC Walkenried is the first design holiday resort in the Harz Zorgertal.
Our modern and minimalist holiday homes are located in the charming monastery community of Walkenried. Here you live in the middle of a pristine valley and against a picture-book mountain backdrop. A former factory site was extensively renaturalized for the resort. Where machines once made noise, nature has now regained the upper hand.
Big city noise and everyday stress? They are a long way away here in Walkenried.
THE CABINS
There are 18 cabins in elsPARC Walkenried: 14 Cabin Cosy for 1-4 people, one of these holiday homes with a sauna. There are also four Cabin Max holiday homes for 4-6 people, three of which have a sauna. All cabins are barrier-free, and one of the larger Cabin Max holiday homes is also handicapped accessible.
THE FORESTER'S HOUSE (FORSTHAUS)
Spacious and charming: As an alternative to the cabins, our lovingly restored forester's house is available to you at elsPARC Walkenried. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the holiday homes on a fenced-in, 600 sqm plot. The 75 sqm historic half-timbered house (3.5 rooms plus dining kitchen, 2 shower rooms, sauna and storage room) has been completely modernized inside and offers space as a holiday home for up to six people.
THE RESORT
We want you to feel at home with us.
In your holiday homes you can enjoy absolute peace and quiet in the middle of nature and with a private terrace.
The large base house of elsPARC Walkenried is a communication, breakfast and games house in one. All guests also have access to a utility room with three washing machines, a tumble dryer and ironing station as well as a large drying room. Strollers, skis and sledges can be stored in another storage room.
Good to know: For groups of up to 20 people, part of the community house can also be booked as an event room. If required, we can also provide an extra Cabin Max for groups as a conference, seminar or course room.
The elsPARC Walkenried also has a vending machine with drinks and basic foodstuffs, a barbecue area, a covered bicycle shelter with e-bike charging stations, an e-bike rental station and a guest parking space for each cabin.
The entire elsPARC Walkenried facility is car-free, fenced in and only accessible to guests. You will receive a personal code with which you can enter the site at any time without a key. The parking spaces are located directly in front of the site.
HARVESTING IN THE PARC

At the resort guests of all ages can (re)discover and try lots of local fruit, vegetables and herbs here.
At elsPARC Walkenried there is a large herb garden, various apple, cherry, pear and plum trees and lots of bushes and shrubs. Raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, currants and even kiwis grow on them.
We grow potatoes, lettuce and strawberries in the fields and rare flowers bloom in our meadows, whose blossoms we process into delicious teas on site.
“Harvesting in the PARC” is not only allowed here, it is even encouraged! This means that as guests you can help yourself to whatever you want during your stay, depending on the season.
Self-catering according to the “farm to table” principle: This is fun and and tasty.
THE ENVIRONMENT
IDEAL FOR EXPLORERS
Anyone who books a room at elsPARC Walkenried will be staying in the middle of the impressive and varied nature of the Harz National Park. Culture, relaxation, magnificent views and plenty of outdoor adventures - here in the South Harz you can find everything, and every type of holidaymaker is guaranteed to get their money's worth.
Numerous marked hiking trails and mountain bike routes start directly from the elsPARC Walkenried facility. A bus stops right at the facility (➚ LINK, PDF) and takes you to Braunlage and Wurmberg in just 30 minutes, for example - the perfect skiing and sledging destination in winter. In summer, you can reach the Zorge forest swimming pool in just ten minutes by bus.
Other highlights in the area: the UNESCO World Heritage Cistercian Museum Walkenried Monastery with its culture and concert program known beyond the borders, the Wieda Glass and Ironworks Museum and many more.
